Spokane Raceway Park has come back to life in a big way and will host Goodguys on Friday night, August 14th for the Friday Night Hot Rod Drags as part of the 8th Great Northwest Nationals August 14-16 at the Spokane Fair & Expo Center. A great even of nostalgia drag racing is on tap with five eliminator classes plus special exhibition cars!

In 2008, Austin Motorsports Management, under the direction of Bucky Austin took delivery of the property and within four months, spent the entire two-year budget for refurbishments and improvements. They accomplished this feat in just 4 months! That’s right, 1.2 Million dollars spent on renovation and remodeling and viola! Spokane County Raceway was brilliantly reborn!

The renovations include a new 660-foot concrete racing surface, a new asphalt top end and shutdown area, a complete state-of-the-art Compulink timing system with digital reader boards, and a complete refurbishment of the concession and restroom facilities. In addition, the timing tower and offices have been completely gutted and renovated.

The track has a top notch crew of experienced individuals in place to manage the day to day operation of the facility. Jay Livingston is the General Manager of the entire property and brings over two decades of first hand experience with him. Drag Strip Manager Jason Murray always has the strip in tip top shape and Cindy Gibbs-Arias was brought in to handle all marketing and promotions! Throw it all together and you have a spectacular new “old” facility that is primed and ready to host the Goodguys Friday Night Hot Rod Drags!
